Doug Hayami MD CM FRCPC, originally from Montreal, Quebec, did his medical school at McGIll and internal medicine and cardiology residency at Dalhousie University, Halifax. He completed training in advanced echocardiography at the Montreal Heart Institute and University of California, at San Francisco. He is a cardiologist at the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. He is an echocardiographer as well as director of the Cardiomyopathy Clinic. He sees patients with adult congenital heart disease and advanced heart failure and prior heart transplant. He provides echo guidance during structural interventions including transcatheter mitral valve intervention. His interests lie in heart failure, cardiac remodelling, exercise physiology and structural heart imaging.
