Dr. Yuan Qiu is in her 4th year of Cardiac Surgery Residency at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in Ottawa, Ontario. She also completed her Master of Science in Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health as a Frank Knox Memorial Fellow. She obtained her MD and BHSc from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She is passionate about clinical research regarding intra- and peri-operative cardiac surgery outcomes, as well as advancing medical education and teaching. She teaches various clinical skills sessions for the University of Ottawa Medical School. She aspires to be a future surgeon-scientist to advance the surgical care of cardiovascular patients.
