Saif is a 4th year MD/PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia working on understanding the genetic and molecular underpinnings of common and rare arrhythmias. Saif's research includes modelling inherited cardiac conditions using human stem-cell derived cardiomyocytes, dissecting the mechanisms of noncoding genetic variants, and investigating the clinical utility of polygenic risk scores and proteomics in risk stratification.
