Mohammed Abbas is a second-year medical student at the University of British Columbia with a strong interest in cardiology and health systems improvement. He has been actively involved in cardiovascular research at UBC, including work on outcomes of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy management, atrial fibrillation risk stratification, and the efficacy of novel therapeutics such as Mavacamten following septal reduction procedures.
Mohammed has presented and published research on topics ranging from cell culture history to ophthalmology safety practices, demonstrating a broad commitment to evidence-based medicine and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Mohammed is dedicated to advancing equitable, patient-centered care through research, advocacy, and collaborative clinical practice.
