My name is Jade Gauvin, M. sc., and I am a PhD candidate in pharmaceutical sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Université de Montréal. I completed my bachelor in biomedical sciences in 2019, during which I was introduced to cardiovascular research. I continued with my master degree, where I developed my expertise in cardiovascular and inflammation research, more specifically in atherosclerosis, a chronic dislipidemic and inflammatory disease. Following the completion of my master with my thesis on the atheroprotective effects of a CD36 targeting ligand in fall 2023, I started my PhD. My PhD project is focusing on the mechanisms involved in the cardioprotective effects of CD36 ligands in a murine model of myocardial infarction. I participated in other projects to develop my expertise in inflammation, including pulmonary inflammation. Overall, my interests and expertise are in the cardiovascular and inflammatory fields.
