Cardiac Surgery Resident
McGill University, Canada
Naïla Benchelabi is a fourth-year Cardiac Surgery resident at McGill University, where she also completed her medical degree. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Surgical & Interventional Sciences Program, more specifically in Experimental Surgery under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Lachapelle and in collaboration with the LEASK lab. Her research focuses on the biomechanics of aortic aneurysms, aiming to compare in-vivo biomechanical properties with ex-vivo bi-axial tensile tissue testing, to better characterize aortopathies and optimize risk stratification. Driven by a passion for surgical innovation and translational research, Naila is dedicated to advancing the understanding of aortic disease to improve clinical outcomes.
