Medical Student
University of British Columbia - Vancouver, BC, Canada
Jayant Seth is a third-year medical student at the University of British Columbia with a strong research focus in cardiology, electrophysiology, and structural heart disease. His work spans multiple subfields, including heart failure therapeutics, arrhythmia mechanisms, valvular interventions, and hypertension management. He has led, co-authored, and presented numerous systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and survey-based studies examining topics such as mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER), stroke topography and arrhythmia burden, and cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) management and exercise safety.
Jayant’s projects also explore emerging therapies including SGLT2 inhibitors, incretin-based drugs, finerenone, and their effects on major cardiovascular and renal outcomes. His research integrates advanced statistical techniques such as network meta-analyses and negative bionomial multivariable modeling, reflecting his commitment to rigorous, clinically applicable research that bridges population data with patient care.
Beyond research, Jayant is dedicated to improving health literacy and accessibility in cardiovascular care. Through his community outreach initiatives, he has organized and led workshops for refugees and newcomers, providing multilingual education on blood pressure management, diabetes, and heart-healthy lifestyles. His work emphasizes equity, cultural competence, and prevention as integral components of cardiology.
Jayant aspires to advance the field of interventional and structural cardiology, combining procedural innovation, research excellence, and compassionate, community-oriented care.
