Dr. Bouchard is an Associate Scientist and Director of the Social Connections Lab at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and an Assistant Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She holds a PhD in Education (uOttawa), Master of Education and Bachelor of Education degrees (Queen’s University), and was a former elementary school teacher. Before starting her independent appointment, she completed a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council-funded postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. her research program centers on understanding the social correlates of cardiovascular health (e.g., social relationships, family systems, sociocultural aspects) in patients and caregivers/families touched by cardiovascular disease.
