I am an early-career physician-scientist and cardiologist with specialized training in advanced heart failure, complemented by training in translational and clinical research. I earned my MD from Université de Lille 2, France, completing residency in cardiology and a clinical fellowship in cardiac intensive care, followed by advanced training in cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. After moving to Canada, I undertook a research fellowship under Dr. Jean Rouleau. I completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at Université de Montréal, developing expertise in cardiovascular pathophysiology, inflammation, and biomarkers.
My current research focus is HFpEF, with particular emphasis on inflammation, coronary microvascular dysfunction, and patient phenotyping. My program is structured around two principal axes: (1) formally testing the inflammatory hypothesis in HFpEF by assessing the impact of anti-inflammatory therapies on myocardial remodeling and coronary microvascular dysfunction, and (2) advancing phenotyping and risk stratification to guide precision medicine in HFpEF. To support these aims, I have initiated several projects that are currently under ethics review at the Centre de recherche du CHUM, including: the COL-Micro-HF study (HSFC-funded), aimed at testing colchicine in HFpEF with microvascular dysfunction; Sex-Based Differences in the Inflammatory Signature of HFpEF (CMDO-funded, FRQS); and a prospective study on lipidomic signatures predicting progression to symptomatic heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes and mild chronic kidney dysfunction (CEISM-funded, Centre d’excellence intégré en santé métabolique).
