Nurse Practitioner Lead, Heart Function Program

Morgan Krauter is the Lead Nurse Practitioner of the Heart Function Program at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie, Ontario. Under her leadership, the clinic has seen in broadening its scope of the clinic to include community-based heart failure management strategies such as intravenous diuretic therapy, palliative and supportive cardiac care, and local cardiac amyloid assessment pathways—improving both access and outcomes for patients across Simcoe Muskoka.
Beyond her clinical leadership, Morgan serves as Chair of the Nurse Practitioner Council at RVH, collaborating with hospital leadership to advance the role of nurse practitioners and establish a framework for practice that strengthens interprofessional care delivery. She also contributes to system-level work, advocating for integrated and equitable models of heart failure care across Ontario.
Morgan has completed her Doctor of Nursing at the University of Toronto. Her doctoral research, The HAVEN-HF Study, explored the barriers and facilitators to implementing home intravenous diuretics for patients with heart failure. Her work contributes to shaping recommendations that support adaptable, evidence-based strategies to enhance community-based heart failure care.
Morgan is passionate about advancing innovative models of care that address system inequities, strengthen collaborative practice, and improve the lived experiences of patients and families managing chronic heart failure.
