John Nam-Kha Nguyen, B.Pharm, M.Sc, M.A.Ed is a clinical pharmacist at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), where he has practiced since 2007 in cardiology and internal medicine. Passionate about teaching and simulation-based education, John has been a driving force behind the integration of high-fidelity clinical simulation in pharmacy and medicine across Québec.
Holding a Master’s in Education (Health Sciences Pedagogy) from the Université de Montréal and certifications from the Harvard Center for Medical Simulation, he bridges academic theory and real-world clinical training. John co-manages several interprofessional simulation programs at CHUM—ranging from acute cardiology and internal medicine to senior resident formation—where learners develop critical decision-making and teamwork skills.
His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Cercle du Doyen Award and Profession Santé’s Interprofessional Collaboration Prize, highlighting his leadership in education and innovation. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondation sur la Santé Vasculaire (FSVC), he also contributes to the development and validation of national clinical algorithms and decision-support tools.
John is a lecturer at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Pharmacy and a content specialist at Collège de Rosemont’s Recognition of Acquired Competencies program, where he mentors pharmacy students and professionals. Through his Opti+Medix platform, he has authored over 60 clinical practice guides used by nearly a thousand pharmacists, physicians, and residents.
Dedicated to advancing clinical education through empathy, rigor, and collaboration, John Nguyen continues to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals by transforming complex medical learning into accessible, human-centered practice.
