Dr. Elizabeth Swiggum, MD, FRCPC, FCCS
Dr. Elizabeth Swiggum is a distinguished cardiologist, educator, and healthcare leader with a deep commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. She served as the Medical Director of the Heart Function Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Royal Jubilee Hospital from 2005 to 2024. With a particular focus on enhancing access and equity in healthcare, Dr. Swiggum has been instrumental in transforming cardiovascular services across British Columbia.
As a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Swiggum is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. She holds prominent leadership roles, including Board of Directors Doctors of BC from 2022 and Medical Chair of Heart Failure and Chronic Cardiovascular Disease at Cardiac Services BC (CSBC) 2020 - 2025.
Dr. Swiggum's commitment to advancing evidence-based care is evident in her contributions to the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Guidelines for Heart Failure and her involvement in clinical research trials exploring pharmacotherapy, device therapy, and stem cell treatments.
