Dr. Inna Rabinovich-Nikitin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Max Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, and Principal Investigator at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, St. Boniface Albrechtsen Research Centre.
Her research program focuses on women’s heart health, cardiometabolic function and circadian rhythm. Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin’s research aims to uncover the genes and networks that are associated with both circadian rhythms and metabolic function toward developing innovative therapeutic strategies to treat cardiometabolic dysfunction in a sex specific manner. Another focus of her research is understating the molecular mechanisms that underlie adverse cardiac outcomes following pregnancy complications in both the mother and fetus.
Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin has published in top journals, including Circulation, Journal of Clinical Investigations, Circulation Research, Nature Communication and others. She serves on the editorial board of several prestigious journals, such as Circulation Research, and as a reviewer for several national and international granting agencies, such as CIHR, NSERC, and American Association of Sleep medicine (AASM). She has also been the recipient of many prestigious research awards including the Louis N. and Arnold M. Katz Basic Science Research Prize from the American Heart Assoiation (AHA), Martha Donovan Women’s Leadership Development Award, International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences Young Investigator Award, and many others.
