Dr. Praloy Chakraborty graduated from Kolkata Medical College, India, and completed his training in General Medicine at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. He subsequently pursued Cardiology training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, and briefly worked as a general cardiologist at Vardaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. Dr. Chakraborty moved to Canada in 2018 to undertake advanced training in adult cardiac electrophysiology at Toronto General Hospital and the University Health Network (UHN), where he also completed an MSc in Medical Science at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto. In addition, he received research training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, USA, focusing on autonomic modulation in cardiovascular diseases.
His clinical interests include cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction, cardiac ion channel disorders, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He has published widely in major peer-reviewed journals. His current research focuses on noninvasive vagal neuromodulation therapy for cardiovascular disorders, the role of cardiac metabolism and calcium signaling in arrhythmogenesis, and strategies to enhance phenotyping and risk stratification in inherited arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy syndromes.
