Too often, patients do not receive the right test or treatment at the right time or in the right way. But Dr. Noah Ivers’ research aims to advance the implementation of patient-centred, evidence-based health care. As Canada Research Chair in Implementation of Evidence Based Practice, he and his research team are advancing the science and practice of “audit and feedback,” a strategy that involves understanding the best way to deliver quality-of-care measures to health-care professionals, teams and organizations. Ivers and his team are also implementing a series of large-scale interventions to close the gap between ideal and actual practice so patients can achieve better outcomes. In addition, they are making progress on the scientific methods that are needed to improve quality of care.
