Dr. Naveed Janjua is the Director of the University of British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (UBC CDC) and a Clinical Professor at the School of Population and Public Health, University of British Columbia, and the Executive Director of Research at the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC).
His research focuses on infectious diseases—including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and COVID-19—health disparities, health outcomes, and the effectiveness of prevention and treatment interventions to generate real-world evidence. He uses large, real-world data cohorts, such as the BC Hepatitis Testers Cohort and the BC COVID-19 Cohort, to conduct high-impact research that has informed clinical practice and public health policies both nationally and internationally.
