Warren Luksun is an anesthesiologist and critical care medicine physician at the University of Alberta. His clinical practice includes cardiovascular critical care at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Instiute which includes subspeciality programs of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, cardiothoracic transplantation, and ventricular assist devices.
Following a residency in anesthesia at the University of Toronto, he completed fellowship training at in cardiac anesthesia at Toronto General Hospital and adult critical care medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a Diplomate – Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography of the National Board of Echocardiography. He also hold a MSc in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.
His experience in education and administration includes service as the Lead Physician, Intergrated Quality Management, Edmonton Zone, Alberta Health Services and Director, Quality and Education for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Toronto General Hospital. He has been recognized by Covenant Health, the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation, the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Toronto, the Ontario Medical Association, and the Canadian Medical Association for his work in medical education and administration.
