Dr. Yoshito Kadoya is an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellow at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute with broad expertise spanning general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and multimodality cardiovascular imaging. He earned his MD from Jichi Medical University and completed a PhD at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, where his research on 123 I-metaiodobenzylguanidine imaging in transcatheter aortic valve implantation patients led to multiple peer-reviewed publications and an appointment as Assistant Professor.
At Ottawa, Dr. Kadoya is deepening his mastery of PET, SPECT, CT, and CMR while leading a funded trial that evaluates whether inspiratory muscle training can enhance myocardial blood flow in coronary artery disease. His commitment to quality improvement was recognized with the 2022 ASNC Nuclear Cardiology Quality Improvement Project Award, and his research potential was further honored by a 2023 Canadian Institutes of Health Research Fellowship.
Dr. Kadoya aims to drive the next generation of nuclear cardiology innovation in Canada, translating insights gained in Ottawa to improve patient care. Outside the lab, he enjoys cycling and experimenting in the kitchen—often sharing his culinary creations with friends.
