Dr. Varinder Kaur Randhawa has undertaken MD PhD (biochemistry), internal medicine, cardiology, advanced heart failure transplant, and post-doctoral training at the University of Toronto, Western University and Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications exploring heart failure and transplant, diversity, cardiac critical care and mechanical circulatory support outcomes including in Circulation HF, JAHA, Critical Care, Reususcitation, CJC, CJC Open, as well as presentations at CCC, ACC, AHA, HFSA, CCCF, and ISHLT amongst others. She serves as CJC associate editor and CJC Open and Circulation HF editorial board member. She has served on the CCS Guidelines, EDI, and Trainee committees, and is a member of several CCS affiliates including CANCARE, as well as ISHLT and its cardiogenic shock task force. She has also contributed to tri-council grants, including as co-PI on a gender diversity CIHR planning and dissemination grant and as co-investigator for several translational research programs. She has experience with clinical trials, observational studies, e-health, registry and big data development, gender diversity, biochemistry, physiology, and cell biology studies. She has also served as research mentor and lecturer in several biochemistry, medicine, dentistry, research and graduate studies courses.
