Dr. Assadi is a doctor of Human Factors Engineering and one of only 4 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners in Canada to work in a pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She is also the lead human factors engineer on the artificial intelligence and clinical decision support committees at SickKids. Her academic endeavors focus on clinical decision making, decision support systems, and the integration of clinical artificial intelligence.
Dr. Assadi’s research delves into the intricacies of how clinical decisions are made, aiming to optimize these processes through both technological and non-technological solutions. She also designs silent trials and validation studies for clinical AI models, while also working on their development and clinical translation.
