Dr. Jimmy Kang is a 5th year cardiac surgery resident at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He is currently in the third year of his PhD in Experimental Surgery, where his research focuses on the development of tissue-engineered heart valves and strategies to mitigate the xenogenic immune response. His work has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the Thoracic Surgery Foundation Resident Research Fellowship Award and the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship.
