Dr. Rodney Zimmermann is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus. He is the Past Head, Division of Cardiology in the Regina Qu’Appelle Heath District. He is a general and interventional cardiologist with his practice based at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan. He also has previously as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Dr. Zimmermann received his MD from the University of Saskatchewan in 1988. He completed his internship at the Saint Thomas Medical Center in Akron, Ohio, USA in 1989. He did his Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Calgary, Alberta.
Dr. Zimmermann is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cradiology. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology since 1997 and also of the ESC since 2012.. He is an ACC Past-Governor for the Prairie Provinces, Board of Governors for the American College of Cardiology. He is past chair of the Specialty Committee for Cardiology in Canada for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He currently is a member and Fellow of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (and sits on the CCS Board).
