Léa is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in cardiology and cardiac surgery at the University of Montréal (UdeM), with a focus on sex-specific differences in cardiovascular disease. She earned her bachelor's degree in health from the Université Paris-Sud, France, in 2015, completing it with a virology internship at Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat, Morocco. After a year-long academic exchange at the University of Montréal, she completed a master’s degree in fundamental research, cardiology (2018–2020). In 2021, she began her Ph.D. at CardioF, a specialized clinic in women's cardiovascular health at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), where she focuses on women’s heart health, coronary physiology, and microcirculation, with a particular specialization in biomarker research. She is also an active member of the Trainee Committee of the Canadian Society of Cardiology (CCS) and the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance (CWHHA). In 2024, she was the recipient of the CCS Sex and Gender-Based Analysis Trainee Abstract Award.
