Dr Thakur is a pediatric and fetal cardiologist who currently works in the fetal cardiology program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. She is also an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Toronto. Her research interests have focussed on understanding the impact of fetal cardiac diagnosis on postnatal outcomes. Her area of clinical interest is early cardiac diagnosis in the 12-14 week fetus. She has helped spearhead and create the early fetal diagnosis clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital in conjuction with colleagues in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Genetics. She is also the Head of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital and participates in various committees in the hospital, university and provincially in this capacity.
