Cardiac Surgery Resident

Khalil Khalil is a cardiac surgery resident at the Université de Montréal with a strong interest in surgical education and simulation. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Lebanese American University (LAU) in Beirut and a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences (Cardiovascular Sciences) from the Université de Montréal.
He has been actively involved in the Canadian cardiovascular community and currently serves on the CSCS Educational Task Force. He previously served on the CCC Trainee Program Planning Committee, contributing to national educational initiatives in both the Research and Surgery streams.
His commitment to academic excellence and leadership has been recognized with several awards, including the ''Have a Heart'' Bursary, multiple Biomedical Sciences Program Scholarships, the Surgical Foundations CanMEDS Award at the Université de Montréal, and the LAU School of Medicine Leadership Award.
He is passionate about surgical education, inter-institutional collaboration, and trainee advocacy. His work focuses on fostering a stronger sense of community among trainees and advancing the quality and accessibility of surgical education across Canada.
