Dr Kantor is the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology, holds the Associates Chair in Pediatric Cardiology, and is co-Director of the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Professor of Pediatrics (Clinical Scholar) at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He also has a MSc. in Health Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
His major interests relate to improving the heart failure management in children with congenital heart disease, and cardiomyopathy at a patient level, and in improving health care systems. He has helped draft guidelines for heart failure management in children, for genetic testing in children with cardiomyopathy, and in the management of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Dr Kantor’s clinical research interests are in ventricular remodeling, myocardial metabolism and function and echocardiography. He is an advocate for organizations serving children with a view to improving the outcomes of cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and cardiac transplantation.
