Session Description: This session features top-ranked, cutting-edge research that is redefining contemporary cardiac surgical practice. From long-term outcomes in major trials to emerging mechanistic insights into vascular biology and innovation in intraoperative imaging, these abstracts represent some of the most impactful science being generated in Canada and beyond. At the end of this session participants will be able to:

Evaluate recent clinical trial results and cohort studies that influence contemporary approaches to coronary, valve, and endocarditis surgery;
Understand novel intraoperative and diagnostic techniques, including the use of intravascular ultrasound for complex aortic pathology; and
Explore emerging mechanistic research on ethnic disparities in cardiovascular disease and their potential implications for precision medicine in cardiac surgery.
