Dr. Mehran Mottahedi, MD, MSc(c) is a physician–scientist in training and MSc candidate in the Surgical and Interventional Sciences program at McGill University. He conducts his research in the Dr. Cecere Lab and contributes to the Heart in a Dish team, where he focuses on dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure. His work applies advanced proteomics to discover plasma biomarkers that can enable earlier detection, improve prognostic assessment, and guide the precision classification of cardiac disease. His academic and clinical interests include cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, and heart transplantation. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and is supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec Santé MSc Research Scholarship.
