Dustin McKee is an incoming third-year medical student at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick in Saint John, NB, with a strong academic foundation and a passion for cardiovascular research, health systems, and community engagement. Originally from Saint John, Dustin earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Chemistry before entering medical school in 2023.
His research at the New Brunswick Heart Centre focuses on STEMI care, examining patient demographic trends, system processes, and clinical outcomes within a centralized provincial cardiac care program. Through this work, he is exploring how geographic, demographic, and organizational factors influence timely, high-quality cardiac care.
Nationally, Dustin serves as the Canadian Federation of Medical Students' National Officer of Communications, leading engagement strategies for over 9,000 medical students from coast to coast. Locally, he is involved in community health promotion initiatives, including mentoring youth through Kids' Run Club and participating in Euphoria!, Dalhousie Medicine's annual arts showcase that raises funds for local health causes. These experiences reflect his commitment to blending medicine, community engagement, and creative expression to improve wellbeing across the lifespan.
