Rene Boudreau completed his undergraduate studies at Western. He earned his MD at Dalhousie University, followed by an Internal Medicine residency in Ottawa. He remained there for a Cardiology fellowship and two years of interventional training at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, focusing on complex and high-risk coronary interventions, chronic total occlusions and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. He is now completing an additional year of CTO/CHIP training in Boston at Mass General Brigham. His research interests include complex coronary interventions, acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock and temporary mechanical circulatory support.
