Dr. Cecilia Gonzalez Corcia is a Consultant Cardiologist and Pediatric Electrophysiologist at CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal, Canada, and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Université de Montréal. Originally from Argentina, she completed medical studies at the University of Buenos Aires and pediatric training at the Gutierrez Children’s Hospital, followed by subspecialty training in pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology at Boston Children’s Hospital.
She then moved to Belgium, where she founded the first Pediatric Electrophysiology Program at Clinique St-Luc (Catholic University of Louvain) and UZ Antwerp, and completed a PhD on pediatric Brugada syndrome under the mentorship of Professor Pedro Brugada.
From 2018 to 2022, she led Pediatric Electrophysiology at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in the UK. During this time, she also completed a Master’s in Genomics at Imperial College London, focusing on cardio-genomics and initiating the development of an International Pediatric Brugada Registry.
Since 2022, Dr. Gonzalez Corcia has served as the Lead of Pediatric Electrophysiology at CHU Sainte-Justine. Her clinical and research work centers on inherited arrhythmia syndromes, risk stratification for sudden cardiac death, and personalized cardiac care in children and young adults.
She is actively involved in international collaborative studies and registries, and is passionate about mentorship and knowledge transmission, believing strongly in the role of education in advancing pediatric cardiovascular care.
