Dr. Maria Lopez Laporte is a resident in Adult Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She graduated from McGill University Medical School in 2018 and was named to the Dean's Honour list. She is a board-certified internist, having completed her subspecialty training in internal medicine at McGill University in 2022. She is passionate about echocardiography and women’s cardiovascular health across the lifespan, with a specific interest in heart disease in pregnancy. She is the current Trainee Co-Representative of the Executive Steering Committee of the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance. She will be pursuing further training in echocardiography and cardio-obstetrics.
