Dr. Beatriz A. Fernández C. is a cardiologist with specialized training in echocardiography, adult congenital heart disease, and cardio-obstetrics. She completed her cardiology residency at the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) in Mexico and advanced echocardiography training at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán (INCMNSZ). She subsequently completed a fellowship in adult congenital heart disease and cardio-obstetrics at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Fernández is currently a staff physician at the Toronto General Hospital Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program and at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she provides specialized care for women with cardiac problems in pregnancy. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Her main research focus is women’s cardiovascular health, with a particular interest in pregnancy in women with heart disease.
