Dr. Chareonthaitawee is a board certified cardiologist who is Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and her Medical Degree from Northwestern University. Dr. Chareonthaitawee completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowships at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). She was an advanced fellow in cardiac PET imaging at the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Imperial College School of Medicine, London, United Kingdom. She currently serves as the President of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. She is a past president of the Cardiovascular Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. She is the current Deputy Editor of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology and past associate editor of Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging. Her areas of clinical expertise include nuclear cardiology (SPECT and PET imaging) and the evaluation and management of patients with coronary artery disease, endothelial dysfunction and microvascular disease.
