Workshop Description: This workshop will review the joint statement from the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS)/National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products regarding best practices for blood utilization and transfusion in patients with cardiovascular disease. It will provide evidence-based statements for transfusion thresholds in the setting of acute coronary syndromes. Emphasis will be placed on aligning clinical decision-making with updated national guidance to ensure patient safety and optimize outcomes.
