Workshop Description: This workshop will be part of a new full day series highlighting critical topics in Interventional Cardiology but is also relevant to the wider Cardiovascular community. The focus will be to explore challenges in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory and highlight new innovations and devices that will address some of these issues.
We will begin the session by polling the audience on their greatest Interventional challenges in their practice today and their current solutions to these challenges. We will then have an overview discussion presented by Dr John Graham regarding upcoming technologies in guide extensions, balloons and guidewires.
Our second session will be delivered by Dr Sanjog Kalra and focus on new mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices and their novel features possibly leading to wider community access.
Our third session delivered by Dr Luiz Ybarra will focus on the current research and clinical use of drug eluting balloons (DEB) as well as highlighting new developments in DEB technology.
Our final session delivered by Dr Wael Abuzeid will explore AI-QCA, an older technology that has been revitalized with the use of artificial intelligence and current studies looking at its support in diagnostic angiography as well as percutaneous coronary intervention.
Interactive and Engagement Activities Description
Our workshop format will be delivered as a series of mini-lectures. We will encourage our lecturers to pose questions and generate debate among the participants. We will also use technology to create “word clouds” and polls to increase audience engagement.
