Dr. Ayaaz K. Sachedina is a Canadian interventional cardiologist who completed his medical training at the University of Toronto and University of Western Ontario. He also pursued additional training in Interventional Heart Failure at the Center for Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapeutics and Transplant, Texas Medical Center, at the University of Texas in Houston, where his focuses included percutaneous mechanical circulatory support devices, management of cardiogenic shock, Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD), heart transplant, structural heart interventions, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).

His current clinical practices include coronary interventions, percutaneous mechanical circulatory support and cardiogenic shock, TAVI, percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion, CardioMems insertion, and endomyocardial biopsy.

He has been recognized by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, University of Calgary, University of Western Ontario, University of Toronto, Professional Association of Residents of Ontario, and the Governor General of Canada’s office for his efforts in education and community advocacy. Dr. Sachedina’s academic and research interests include medical education and simulation, the use of percutaneous mechanical circulatory support devices in cardiogenic shock, percutaneous valve interventions, and critical care resuscitation.
