Dr. Joanne Joseph is the current Chief Echocardiography Fellow at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science (with specialization in Neuroscience) followed by her medical education at the University of Ottawa. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital during which she served as one of the Chief residents in her final year. She completed her Adult Cardiology training at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute before beginning her current training in Echocardiography. Dr. Joseph is interested in Adult Congenital Heart Diseases (ACHD) with a special focus on transition care, where she aims to improve the continuity and quality of care of adolescents and young adults as they move from pediatric to adulthood. She is also passionate about medical education and is actively involved at both the Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate levels, which includes promoting ACHD education among the cardiology trainees. After her Echocardiography fellowship, Dr. Joseph is planning to join the University of Toronto for fellowship training in ACHD.
