Workshop Description: This is Part 2 of a 3 part workshop series on pediatric and congenital electrophysiology. Part 2 of this series will focus on risk management in children and in patients with congenital heart disease.
Session 1: "What to do with asymptomatic preexcitation”. This session will review the risk of a sudden cardiac event in asymptomatic preexcitation in children, the latest data regarding the yield of non-invasive and invasive risk stratification, and current recommendations regarding risk stratification and ablation in the setting of asymptomatic preexcitation in children.
Session 2: "What's the risk? Updates on sudden death prediction in pediatrics and congenital heart disease”. This session will provide the audience with a review of new risk stratification algorithms and calculators developed for children and patients with congenital heart disease. The limitations of using calculators for risk prediction in non-congenital heart disease in children (including cardiomyopathy) will be discussed.
This part of the workshop will conclude with a question and answer session and panel discussion.
